This recipe is for the people in your life who don’t love chocolate. Blondies are such an underrated dessert. Brownies tend to steal the show, but blondies have the same great chew with a more versatile flavor profile. The options are endless. These blondies have a satisfying texture, a burst of citrus freshness, and a gooey center of melted white chocolate deliciousness.
Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs at room temperature
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla bean paste
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 tbsp. orange zest (about 1 large orange)
2 cups white chocolate chips
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13 glass baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, mix butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar on high using a hand mixer until fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Over low speed, add one egg at a time until thoroughly mixed.
Add the vanilla bean paste, almond extract, and orange zest until the mixture is smooth and thoroughly combined.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using the hand mixer until just combined, making sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl.
Using a wood spoon, gently fold white chocolate chips into the dough.
Spread the dough in an even layer into the prepared baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. A toothpick should come out just barely clean.
Allow the blondies to cool and slice into 16 squares.
